Basic Life Support & CFR Community Instructor

Overview: This course is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge to facilitate CPR training in their organisation or in the community. This course is primarily aimed at those who work in an acute medical setting that want to provide training to their colleagues or to the community at large. Students who wish to undertake this course must be from an acute healthcare background such as doctor, nurse, paramedic or similar.

How it’s delivered: 

The course is led by one of our Expert First-Aid Instructors who will use a variety of videos, demonstrations and presentations throughout the course and delivered in English.  Once the in-person classes have been completed, students are then designated as "Instructor Candidates", in order to gain full instructor status students must complete the required 3 step monitoring process. 

Duration: The face-to-face portion of the class is 2-days long but additional learning and assessments take place over several weeks. See ‘assessment’ for more info.

Assessment: Once the in-person classes have been completed, students are then designated as "Instructor Candidates", in order to gain full instructor status students must complete the required 3 step monitoring process. This includes observing an instructor deliver a course, assisting an instructor with a course and finally, delivering a course to a group. Once this has been completed successfully students are fully qualified instructors and will receive their instructor certificate. 

Certification: Upon successful completion of the course students will be presented with a certificate valid for three years. After the three-year certification period, students are required to undertake the course again to maintain the qualification.
